I really want one. But the price heh... Guess it's better to wait a few months and see what happens about production quality etc.

If the reviews are good I have no issues dropping the money. This is the monitor I've been waiting for the last year and a half. I sure hope it lives up to the hype!. =00=

Really keen for this. I could do without the logo projection and the orange colour and the stand is a bit take it or leave it but.... I care not aside from it could have saved a few bucks.

Please be quality. Feature wise it's the same as the Acer, just hope the QC is good!

Right. Off to sell a kidney.

edit - can anyone confirm if it's VESA mount compatible? Just saw someone say it's not which is a bit odd.

RE-Edit - nevermind - facebook is full of misinformation. Unusual I know...

HP have had a very similar, if not identical, panel in one of their

all-in-one/workstation machines (at £2k each) for a month or two - I saw one in London in December and was deeply impressed I have to say.

Overclockers.co.uk and several other webshops lists it as VESA 100x100 compatible, even the ROG website they mentioned it a while back. It sure doesn't look like it, but seems to support it so far...

It is vesa 100x100 compatible, click the source link and head to the spec list in the press release at the bottom, says right there.

This will be my next one, going under the Swift on my dual monitor stand :)

Let's just hope it's not the same poop as the Swift were...

I'd be interested to see how this compares to the Acer X34 Predator. I do think this Asus will carry a bit of a premium though, expect £1,100 or thereabouts.

Scan and Overclockers already have it for pre-order in the UK for a few weeks now @ £999.95 Inc VAT

Scans ETA is 12th February.

Yeah I found that out just after posting hence the edit. Thanks though.
Will teach me to believe what I read on a FB post! :)

Monitor looks good and similar specs to the Acer. Just have to see what the quality is like. I heard the Asus was delayed while they were sorting out some manufacturing quality issues (which the ACER seemed to suffer in the first run) so hopefully it's going to be spot on.

Curved monitors even worth it? Sitting so close already seems to make less sense. I feel like for those massive TVs it would be better suited there. Genuinely curious if anyone can answer that

I think it's the exact opposite. For a curved screen to have the desired effect you must sit straight in front of it. How many people sit absolutely straight in front of their TV in the living room? What if you want to watch TV with multiple people? Your angles and colours will go all funny on the curved part of the display.

With a PC monitor, it's usually one person viewing, sitting straight in front and fairly close so that if you turn your head, the outer edge of the display is still as far away from you as the center is.

Personally, I wouldn't spend extra money on one, but it definitely makes more sense as a monitor than a TV imo.

I think it probably makes more sense the closer you are. From a distance the curved TV's look a bit funny imo. With my dual (work) and triple (home) set ups I have the monitors on slight angles so I can see why they're popular.

Would I spend an extra couple of hundred on a curved versus flat? (LGUM95 v UC87 are identical except for the curve and the stand) Probably not.

If it was the same/similar price - then yeah I probably would.

EDIT - Rick beat me to it. I agree 100%

I'd say it's very individual. I was very suspicious about curved monitors at first. But when I got Acer and once really got into a game, it felt immersive. Was kinda disappointing going back to my Swift after the Acer (returned due to the bad quality issues, when it has such a high price tag. Say what you want about me returning it (nothing towards you mate)).
