Hello,

Here is some initial tests I have done on my 8086K Retail from Intel :

5 GHZ - Stable at 1.28v OCCT Linpack with AVX enabled
5.1 GHZ - Stable at 1.3v OCCT Linpack with AVX enabled
5.2 GHZ - Stable at 1.328v OCCT Linpack with AVX enabled

These chips are good overclockers, today the weather is a bit cooler in Paris, 24c ambient and the cpu hits 70c max.

The Z370-I (Bios 1002) from Asus is also working well with LLC @ 6 , CPU voltage is rock solid, no vdroop, no overvoltage.

Cooling is a H115i from Corsair in pull configuration fans at fixed 1200rpm.

Memory is 2 x 16gb GSkill Aegis 2133mhz 16-15-15-35 overclocked to 3000mhz 16-18-18-38

Seem you gotten a golden sample there. My i7 7700K @ stock 1.15v still hits 75C, and that's even the same test without AVX. I'm so not liking this CPU these days

Delid it, takes 5 minutes of your life and the overclocking headroom after is great.

Ok so after some more testing I am stable at 5.2ghz 1.328v OCCT with AVX but Prime95 is definitely not stable, I get stopped workers after a couple of seconds and heat is in the top 80s to low 90s. I have no issues with any other benchmarks just Prime95 with small fft's kicks the sh#* out of my CPU :( ...

Maybe the Corsair H115 AIO is not up to the task, and I don't have other options in my NZXT Manta case..

If everything is stable but one thing and that thing is a synthetic benchmark your probably fine. If everything you do is stable and 99% of your synthetic benchmarks are stable I'd call it a success.

Do you plan on using this clock 24/7? seems like you have a golden sample for sure even as far as 8086k goes, but do you want to impact its OC stability with over 1.3v plugged through it so much?

I would rather settle for a 5Ghz with lower volts like what you achieved and have longevity. Besides do you even notice a difference between 5 and 5.2 or was it just for synthetic scores?

Actually finding the lowest volts for 5ghz was next on my to do list..

Anybody know what the stock intel volts for cpu vccio and cpu system agent are ? Currently have them at 1.23v for VCCIO AND 1.17v for System Agent.

Also, i'm not sure how people are putting 1.4v through these chips unless they have some mega cooling setup, my H115i cannnot handle more than 1.35v on this chip.

According to 8Pack anything up to 1.425v is completely fine for 24/7 usage with decent cooling on the 8700K and considering the 8086 is just a highly binned 8700K I'd imagine the same would be true for it.

Down to 1.25v (llc 6 stops the vdroop and no overvolts) for 5ghz

Cinebench stable, OCCT linopack with AVX Stable, Firestike physics test stable

Max cpu temp 59c ambient is around 23c ,vrm are around 59c under full load

Now that is a good sweet spot imo. Damn nice job!

I think I should be able to get stable at 1.21 because the test above also passed with LLC 4 with gave me vdroop to 1.21v. I'll give it another go after lunch with vcore @ 1.21 and llc6

***Edit***

5GHZ 1.2v AVX Stable for OCCT, Cinebench, 3dmark Firestrike physics, gonna try some games and see if I get any crashes.

UPDATE
+++++++

No crashes on any games / Asus Realbench ok too but still cant run prime95 with small FFTS for more than 30 seconds. No bluescreen but workers stop with fatal error..

are you using manual voltage or adaptive?

Removed manual voltage and re-enabled intel speedstepping features with adaptive voltage negatif offset 0.075v which gets me to 0.62v when idle and up to 1.2v when under load, all seems stable for 5ghz. Lost a couple of degrees on Idle temps also, they are now hovering around 28-29c mark compared to manual voltage where idle temps were mid 30s.

Had another play with Prime95 small FFT's and it seems that I need 1.275v to be stable at 5ghz although I only left if for an hour. But there is absolutely no workload in my lifelike this so I'm just keeping it at 1.2v.
