ASUS' ROG Strix X470-I Mini ITX motherboard has been pictured

I don't like this random scribbling Asus have seen fit to put over all of their new products.

Talk about having the almost perfect visual appeal and then wrecking it.

why X470...?

i have not looked at the specs to be honest but is this chipset not a bit of a waste on an ITX mainboard?

what does it offer that could not be achieved with a B450?

PCI lanes should not be a problem with a board that has just one PCI16 slot and 2 SATA ports.

I think you can safely say because they can and someone will buy it , ASrock did the same with x99e- itx :)

just noticed it has 4 sata ports but that did not change my question. :)

well i was searching for an ITX mainboard the last year (have an empty ITX case here that waits for some hardware).

but i am not paying 180+ euro for the asus x370 ITX.
i buy only asus, no need to recommend asrock, gigabyte or MSI etc. :)

i don´t need that system but i would build one if i can get an ITX board from asus around 120 euro.

But in the ASRock X99E-ITX/AC case, it was the only ITX motherboard for the X99 chipset. And to be fair, it was a good motherboard for an 5820K for example. As I had both once :)

yes it was and still is , i was just speculating on itx-board and the chip set on it that could be seen to be overkill for this form factor :)

Still retaining my complaint about the X370/B350 ITX boards that the rear I/O is just too bare. They could have at least put some USB 2.0 ports and changed one of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports to USB-C. Or even given a full 6 port audio I/O for surround sound since if you have a GPU, there's no way of having it otherwise

Yes agreed, it looks very vague if I shall be honest. I’d like atleast a few more USB porta on the back.
