ASUS ROG Maximus IV GENE-Z

I'm looking at getting this mobo with a 2600k, 16gb RAM (wouldve preferred more but cant seem to find any 8GB sticks in the UK), plonk the Zalman CNPS9900-MAX Red on ( i prefer this to tower coolers, used to have the old one on my QX9650 in the past) and bundle it all into an nzxt vulcan, with my current PSU, Fans and GPU. Will be nice to be able to go to lans with out breaking my back lifting my rig :3

16GB and you wanted more? for what? if its only for lans

I think there might be a trouble with this board in terms of long GPUs interfering with the memory, will require careful measurements.

I shouldn't worry too much dude. ASUS have made quite a few mATX boards, so I don't think they'd be silly enough to cock that up

I guess you are right. If the price will be under £200, I'll prob will base a rig around it. The trouble is that I might not have enough cash for SLI, but still want to leave an option of adding another card.

I think you're right, going by other ASUS ROG Gene boards it should come in under £200 though probs not by much. I'd love to be able to build a portable rig around this, but I've checked my funds and I'm not gonna be able to for a good few months

Ok my next build is this or bulldozer, just waiting on bulldozer tests and intel price drop when bulldozer comes out

Ok I been keeping my eye out for this board now and the wait has been longish lol (feel sorry for you AMD lovers0

But I found around the place that it should be hitting shelves between 24th and the 27th and the MSRP is $185US (Quoted for Asus tech on a US forum)

I can't wait for this little board for my new rig

Here is a early OC image I found from some one of a 2600k @ 5.7GHZ
