So VR is "mixed reality" now? That's a new one, LOL! Why oh why do marketing people need to keep coming up with new terms for old stuff? This looks like a cool toy though, in spite of the silly marketing.

Mixed reality is different, as it can be used to show images of the real world and augment it. (IE a mixture or reality and Virtual reality).

Not sure how much the mixed reality thing will be used in practice, but it is interesting tech.

While you're right about Mixed Reality, these headsets are PURE VR-Headsets, so no images from the outer world will be captured and visible. The name probably only derived from MS's Hololens, which was a REAL Mixed Reality headset.

Also, all those headsets are the same on the hardware level, only the name and designs differ with offers from Acer, Asus and so on.
