Asus Rampage III Black Edition

The G1 assasin does not support 4 way SLI, it only supports 3 way SLI but at 8/8/8. I know tom doesn't like more than 2 cards at once but if someone is considering these boards, they will obviously be putting more than 2 cards in. I certainly hope this board has the N200 chip.

I certainly hope this board has the N200 chip.

Don't you mean 2 NF200 chips? (32 lanes per chip) Secondly though it would be nice to have without needing the ROG Xpander board NF200 chips are not cheap so if it does have them this motherboard could end up being rather expensive.

I dont think it has 2 nf200 chips. They take up a lot of space and get pretty hot and that heatsink looks a bit small. But i could be wrong. That box looks amazing If the make a r4e black edition for lga 1365 im gonna get it.

This ISN'T a revival.

I was browsing SCAN an noticed this: Link

I have no idea how long it's been there for but there you go.

This one has more beefier heatsinks than r3e,and a better layout.Maybe its the black colored look, but this one and 990x

smells like 5.0+ on air.

That's the one Tom said he is having in his own personal rig with his 990X and 590. I love the orange on that board it looks awesome, way better than the green on the Assassin.

At least it's cheaper than the G1 Assassin.

It might be cheaper over there, but in the states the G1 is around $50usd cheaper than the Rampage Black.

I love the features of the gigabyte offerings, just not the colors. The green, and now going with orange....ewwww. I personally like the black edition, but not going to pay that price tag for it. And I have to agree with Tom, I like his blue one

I personally like the blue colors of boards. But that's just me.

I personally don't think that the color really matters as long as its done right. for example i think ALL of the follow boards look great

g1 - green

gigabyte's OC - orange

this black r3 - black

msi marshal - blue

What ever the color is, you can build a system around it to look nice

as long as the mobo features are good, and the colors aren't messed up ( i saw some shitty crappy brand mobo that was black and yellow and other stuff all around , eww)

i say you probably will be looking north of that

The X58 OC.is expected to retail at 280,USD

Theres a look at the board with the guy from gigabyte,if you can make out what he's saying.

Loads of features on the board, but price reflects the lack of back panel connector ports.

As it states, this board is for overclockers, and extra peripherals plugged in will draw cpu power,so that's why they haven't included extra usb etc.

But overall i love the colour scheme, and the general layout of the board, and for £170 roughly,it's gonna be well worth the wonga.
