ASUS PB287Q - Anyone got one? know of them?

Just looking at getting a third, bigger, central screen. With higher than 1080p res, found this puppy for what I consider to be quite a fair price...(£600)

Specs are 28inch, 4k res, 1ms response time, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMi 1.4 with MHL, 10-bit colour...

Anyone know of/seen this screen? It almost sounds too good to be true...

I'm putting it on my to-do list I think.

ah, okay, well I pre-ordered it. It just looks too good to pass-up! :P I'll do a review when she arrives

Ah yes, amended the title

Overclockers have it on pre-order here

And I've pre-ordered from amazon here

Which you will notice is listed with the wrong serial in the title, but correct in the description.

so.. anyone else grabbing one?

C'mon now, stop tempting goddamit!

EDIT: I see you've overcome your opposition against TN panels?

I read it was a PLS somewhere but I think that was the wrong model number thing (as above)?

I can't help it it was purdy, and.. 4k

Either way, meh, I needed a new one and this looks baller

Fair enough ^_^

4k would be awesome but ive not even seen a 4k tv yet so im not sure about using one everyday, day in day out.

so a review would be good :)

i had been looking at it tho just thinking im not so sure

After faffing with the supplier I ended up cancelling this (they sent me the 27 inch 1440p one because they're stupid), ended up trying the VG248QE (G-Sync one) and sending 2 of those back, (one faulty, the second just don't like 1080p) and now I've got 2 Dell's instead lol so I'm afraid I don't have one for review. Tom may end up with one soon though.

They can be had for £562.71 from amazon now though (3rd party supplier)

Yeah, the 1080p screens just don't have enough vertical space for me, I love 1200p so sending the Asus back got another 2412M and a U2413 as the centre screen.

Now have to either retire the old 2407wfp *sniff* or get a screen mount to put it above my centre screen.

sweet mate but i do find there is only a set number of videos you can watch at one given time.

i used to have two monitors but found that i always had a lot of stuff open, id not mind trying trying three monitors for gaming but its still a fair amount to lay out if i dont get on with it

Yeah I'm a heavy 'productivity' user, so 2 screens was always a must, 3 is excellent, gives me more space and a centralised screen instead of being twisted/offset while gaming.

Yes... I ordered, and paid the £600 for, the 287, then received, returned and had to wait for a refund(took 2 fucking weeks) the 278...

Thus, f**k that noise for the time being. triple 1200p has me a happy camper since nVidia surround is retarded and chooses 1050p instead of 1080p when your screens mismatch....

GG nVidia
