Asus P8P67 problem

Hi, guys.

I bought a Asus P8P67 motherboard and everything is great except for one thing. When I go in to the BIOS the screen resolution is way to big and half the options are off the screen and I can't change anything because I can't see what there is to change.

I have updated to the latest BIOS but that didn't do anything. The only thing I can think of that may be causing it is that I am using a HDTV. I have it connected strait from my 6850 in to the TV via a HDMI lead.

Anybody else had this problem or have a fix for it? I think I might have to get a VGA lead to use just for the BIOS.

I'll give that a try, thaks, can't believe I didn't think of that in the first place.

EDIT: I changed to 4:3 and that made it a bit better but it's still not fully usable. Any other suggestions welcome.

You do not have a solution yet by trying with a different VGA-card or anything else? I must say that I am experiencing the same issue with my Asus P8P67 Evo motherboard. I have an ati hd5770 with a vga monitor, which is a different setup, but I cannot see the screen. Also when you move around areas around the screen turns corrupt with blocks of blue/green/yellow etc.

It is a very annoying issue, actually on more fora people seem to have this issue. I contacted Asus support in the Netherlands, and they say that because they do not have the issue they will not try and fix it. I am not able to contact Asus USA or UK support, I would like to, so if anyone can also inform them about the problem. Hopefully the engineers at Asus will implement some kind of fix like a manual adjustment of the screen output. Or choose to have the display output like the old BIOS, with witch I never had issues with. Are you able to contact your local support at Asus?

I tried a VGA lead and it was still the same but if I change to 4:3 I can see most of it ok. I think it's because i'm using a HDTV so there isn't much I can do but I can see all I need to see to change the setting when I switch to 4:3 so it's not really a prob any more.

There could be an auto-detect resolution setting for your tv, or a default, but I guess you would know lol.

I have a Pioneer Plasma, and had to go through a few menus to stop it stretching or switching the image.

But as you say, its not really a problem anymore
