ok i got a asus p5p800 se my cpus mhz is jumping around thats the cpu is a 520 presscott 2.8 revison e0. I can overclock up to 254 mhz anything over and my mhz at post jumps around like crazy. When running 254mhz in windows cpuz has a solid mhz but other things jump around including benchmarks i run the scores jump to random #s down and up. Im running my ram with a divider 5:4 I get very good memory bw if i could get this to become stable for a p4. Any help is welcome thanks.

Are you using a 20 or 24 pin adaptor on your PSU? Other than that, it sounds like the dreaded 'volt droop' to me, and if I remember correctly the P5P was particularly prone to it when trying to attain high FSB. There are tuts for volt mods for your mobo all over the net. :)

You don't have Intels SpeedStep or whatever the heck its called enabled do u? The energy saving mode?

i dont see it enabled far as i can tell cpu dont support it. And boad dont show a option to turn it on. I Have found out if i run 250mhz fsb it keep s asolid mhz lol no higher keeps a 100% stable mhz. This is still work stock vcore running stable 2.8@3.50.

The 520's don't support enhanced speedstep Frag. It's only the 630, 640 etc that do. ;) Have you actually measured the voltage accurately Bal3Wolf?

no pv i waset even upping the voltage it waset rebooting or locking up windows i just started upin voltage more wierd stuff if i up voltage the mhz post sees goes up lol. More i raise it higher the fsb but random mhz in windows still but i get nice benchmarks and killer memory bw i guess i should be happy. Aslong as its safe to run it this way.

Lol nol you got me on your post i dont understand that lol.
