ASUS Maximus III Formula Motherboard Gets Pixelised

The most upsetting thing, looking from a lover of tech's pov, is that out of all the owners of the Q6600 - the incredibly vast majority of the owners will not even have used 25% of their cpu's potential.

But we want to upgrade ?

(we all do)

That's down to software developers being slow to utilise the tech though. I wish they would try and catch up myself. Quad core has been out long enough now for devs to be able to use the tech more fully, but they don't (well rarely do).

Well, since it is a "high-end" board I was expecting triple channel. On paper it looks better in reality it is probably unnoticeable.

I'm pretty sure the P55 motherboards dont have tripple channell support.

I have established that. But what depresses me is that the original maximus was top of the world and now they have gotten worst.

How do you know its gotten worse when the motherboard isnt even out yet. I see the addition of a fan to the VRM cooler. This will help keep that cool. in my opinion adding a fan to the VRM is a step forward in a way. Also they got rid of Tripple channell in P55 to save us money.

Last thing any of these manufacturers will do m8 is do something to save the user/builder money.

There are ofc ways that the i5 could come out infront of the i7 in terms of prioritizing some things over another. Pushing graphic priotities over... I dunno, drive performance or some threading options. Could push it upfront in terms of a gaming build.

If its cheaper than X58 and is good for games then I will definately have a P55 and i5 combination. My Q6600 is getting old at this stage.
