ASUS has announced their CROSSHAIR VI Hero AM4 Motherboard

Nope a standard is a standard and has very specific vocabulary. There is no USB 3.2 standard. USB 3.1 gen 1 and 2 are both part of the USB 3.1 standard.
And there actually is a difference between USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 (gen 1 and gen 2) as the other guy said.
Just saying "But I call it 3.2 and the other guy is wrong" is very in line with your nick but not a valid argument.

Thats great? It's the same thing. Like I said, whether you like how I call it or not, the point still stands there is no difference. USB 3.0 is rebranded 3.1. There is no difference besides type C. 3.1 "Gen 2" like you want to call it is the standard with double the speed. 3.0/3.1 "Gen 1" is still 5Gb/s. Again only difference is type c. So yes. The argument is valid

Well outside of the spec name, something i notice, look at those power phases on the hero, they look alot more beefy then what we saw from things like the titanium. And i dunno, but when i look at the none asus boards im having really bad flashbacks to when the am3+ stuff came out and we had the ud7s /shudder.

I'm really liking ASUS's design direction at the moment. I really hope they'll do an X300 mITX board in the same vein as the Z270i Strix; it's got to be the best looking mITX board I've seen.

Ok. I see your point now.

"Gen 1" is still 5Gb/s. Again only difference is type c. So yes.
That's correct. Though I'm not 100% sure if type c is the only difference. But transfer speed wise you are right.

I still maintain it is important to use the right terminology though. As you have seen your use of USB 3.2 really threw me off.

I'm waiting to see the Sabertooth myself :)

It will probably be the board to have. IE cheaper than the Crosshair but pretty much identical. I know that's how it was with 990. The CHIV had more features but the bioses were identical and they both had 8 phases. Saber was £30 or so cheaper though.

And the only board that colour matches with Noctua. :D

Yeah, small high-end form factor boards will be a brilliant way to improve how people see Zen as a whole. If the range is diverse and covers a wide audience then people will speak very fondly of the entire CPU platform in tandem. If pieces are missing, even if they're not that popular, word of mouth might drop for the entire range. That's what I see happening.
