ASUS has announced their CROSSHAIR VI Hero AM4 Motherboard

It just got real

Hell yeah it did ! hail the new king !

I've always loved Crosshair boards. So much cheaper than the Intel equivalent too. The last one was like £160 and that was like top top end (8+2+2).

This looks fab !

Whoah ! 8 + 4 pin. **** just got real !

Alien, Crosshair boards are only for AMD right? Or I thought so. Didn't think they had it for Intel. I don't follow the motherboard brands much:p

They are AMD yes but if you look at them there is always a model that is very similar in looks and spec for Intel, only they cost a lot more. Seriously, how much does a top end board cost for Intel? a lot more than £160.

I'm not expecting this one to cost £160 tbh. Not with Brexit  and other nonsense (and of course new shiny tax) but I do expect it to cost a lot less than a high end Intel board. Mostly because Intel charge a fortune for socket licensing and so on.

Oh ok so I was right.
Yeah it'll hopefully cost less. Lower cost of entry to switch over to AMD the better for there market share goals.

No it is the same. 3.1 is rebranded 3.0. USB 3.2 is the most current version, which introduced type C to USB 3.1 and 3.2. So no, you are wrong dude.

Source? Because I think you are mixing up "USB 3.1 gen 1" and "USB 3.1 gen 2" with "USB 3.2", which doesn't exist( at least yet)

The number after the . stands for the generation. Really doesn't matter which way you want to look at it. In addition, main point still stands, the other guy was still wrong in the fact that 3.0 and 3.1 are indeed exactly the same thing.

Nope a standard is a standard and has very specific vocabulary. There is no USB 3.2 standard. USB 3.1 gen 1 and 2 are both part of the USB 3.1 standard.
And there actually is a difference between USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 (gen 1 and gen 2) as the other guy said.
Just saying "But I call it 3.2 and the other guy is wrong" is very in line with your nick but not a valid argument.
