By now we've established that the GTX980 is both fast and efficient. How does it perform in an SLI configuration? Read on..

ASUS GTX980 SLI Review

This might seem like a dumb question but I always thought that the SLI/X-Fire bridge had to be on the fingers closest to the I/O of a card yet in the pics you have them on the second finger or doesn't it matter? Oh and nice review BTW

Nope it doesnt matter and if you think about it the reason I put it there is there is a vent for hot air right there, so by putting it further away it has the direct route out the vents at the back of the case like they are designed for....

Nice one Guv, I think the main stand point for me was that power draw! 2 cards are only 41 Watt greater than the 290X, What!!?! That is stonking efficiency.

Very interesting thanks for that info and i can't wait till I get my 980's

Wow, that kind of performance with such low power consumption. I wish i had a pair of those.

Epic numbers through all of that, yeah i'd get three for my hypothetical X99 rig :D but for now 780's are doing the same job albeit with about 40% more power. It's disappointing the 4k numbers still aren't that great, I expected to see a bigger gain over the 780Ti's.

monitor hookup?

My big question and I have never been able to get a straight answer is....If running two GPU's in SLI with two monitors, do I connect both monitors two one gpu or each to it's own gpu?

For 2 monitors, you connect to one graphics card (Your primary aka top one), although you can still plug it in with one on either card, and then hit the detect button, and it will set it up that way, but that could cause you some issues then. You only really ever plug into the secondary card when using 3 or more displays, or to utilise multiple HDMI ports or DisplayPorts if the primary has only 1 of these.

Great review, love power figures. But any chance of 970 SLI review, shopping wisely can get a pair for the about the price of one 980. Interesting power/ price comparison. Got one 970 thinking of getting another.

My god, I could upgrade to a pair of those and actually downgrade my PSU, and I only have a 750! :D If I ever have money again, green team gets it this time.

What the hell is up with nearly all 100% Nvidia results? I see more 7970CF results than 290/290x results up there. Also most of these titles in the review are known to be biased towards Nvidia(mainly the futuremark/unigene bench's). Its been this way for a while. Personally i just never said anything. Gotta at least balance it out. Only thing i can take seriously in this review is the power draw(which i will admit is damn impressive).

Not saying its your fault or anything Guv, but you have to at least give the other guys some credit. Its not a one company GPU market after all.
