ASUS Gene VII help!

Hey guys,

I am currently in the process of buying a new PC. I have decided to go with a mATX build, and will be using the Gene VII as my board. I have decided to go with an ASUS RAIDr as my storage for games, and I was also going to make use of the mPCIe slot by using a combo card and getting an SSD and WiFi/Bluetooth card as well.

The problem I've got is that from what I've read the board automatically disables the mPCIe slot when you have something installed in the PCIe 2.0 slot (RAIDr slot). Is it as simple as just going through the bios and enabling it? And would I have any issues then with bandwidth?

Thanks

Firstly, what graphics cards and CPU are you planning to use?? (This will effect the amount of PCI-E lanes available, as this is where things can become unstuck)

The CPU's these days (for 1150 socket) have 16 lanes, and your graphics card will use those, although in the bios (I can on my VII Hero, so yours should be an almost identical one) it has option to use the 3rd graphics card slot as mPCI-E, PCI-E etc which then you can select, or leave it to automatically delegate itself as to what and how it is used, so this should also be the same sort of thing on your VII Gene board.

I plan on using my ASUS Mars 760, and the 4690k.
