Asus announces the 8800GS

Saw the xfx version of these on pre-order yest. Decent price tbh, and now ive got ANOTHER set of cars to consider for the benching rig. Like the choice isn't hard enough already:mad:.

But for the love of god nv, get on with the new stuff.

Will definatly have to see how the soon to be relaunched ATI mid range cards fare before I decide if this card is worth it or not atm.

IMO I don't think this is worth getting at all.

Ok I contradicted myself.. but we all do... right :D

this is rediculous..

8800GS 768MB, 8800GT 256/512/1024, 8800GTS 320mb/640mb/512mb, 8800GTX, 8800Ultra

Yes it is, but Nvidia is still selling them well. Why jump on the 9 series when they can grab as much money from the 8 series?

It's marketing, its not what the consumer wants, its what the business wants.

This is a nice addition between the 8600 and other 8800 cards, and should put the pressure on Radeon 3800's.
As far as I know the 8800GS (G92 - 150) is supposed to replace the G80 8600. If these cards are competitively priced, which I think they will be (NVIDIA aren't stupid), then they'll certainly put considerable pressure on ATI's 3850. Furthermore, according to our ASUS contact only ASUS and XFX will be running with these cards. You can quote me on that! :D
