ASUS have announced their new ROG Swift PG27VQ Quantum Dot G-Sync display, which comes with TN-like response times while delivering improved colour reproduction over IPS.

I think it looks great. But then again, I don't mind the ROG Swift design. I'm not in love with it, but honestly I don't mind it at all. The AURA is a little stupid though. At least on the back of the panel. Because that's so visible.

I'm waiting oh so patiently for the PG27UQ. That's the only real monitor I'm excited for this year (4k, 144hz, G-Sync, and HDR!!)... unless we can get a 144hz ultra wide 1440p with all the features we have here... that Quantum Dot technology with HDR

RGB on back? wonder if the ROG logo light on the bottom of the base is RGB or not, cause if it's not... Then just fail to have RGB on the back of the monitor only and not have the feature on the base as well.

I'd like to see a "plain jane" version of a good spec'ed screen like this. No frills, no RGB, no USB ports, and only a DP connection (NOTHING else). Just to cut down costs. I'd bet they'd sell quite a few "no frills" screens with specs like that.

If you remove the stand (I personally use an Ergotron MX desk arm that looks like a limb from a T1000 Terminator) then the monitor can look quite classy. Most of the ridiculousness on these Asus panels are on the stand and back so it's easily remedied with a good arm either a desk clamp or wall mount one.

I don't even dare guess at how much it will cost. The PG279Q still cost a fortune

the base is indeed massive and ugly, I have the PG348 swift. With the stand removed and a VESA mount, the real estate is very pretty. Waiting for KoOS to come in with his comment on ASUS tax with every topic that involves an ASUS product

I think the whole monitor in general is ugly. Not just the stand, the rear side is just hideous and childish
