Dang it, me who hasn't taken the step to OC yet and now facing updating the BIOS?...
Will this have any effect on my 960 EVO M.2 SSD?.
No it won't
Updating a BIOS is faster and more simple than overclocking

Only if you let it be.
Download the BIOS, then if a zip file, extract the folder to a USB stick. It will probably need to be in fat32 format and put the stick in the Asus USB port that allows for flashes.
Then go into your BIOS find the update bios. Then select the USB and probably .Bin file. Then update. Wait... It'll reboot and turn off again, then reboot.
Takes about. Idk 3 minutes?
