Only reason ordered this mobo is because it matches the video card . But should have listened to Tiny Tom Logan............for the top of the range board the inclusions are sparse and I hate the idea of not having the backplate like the Asus X99 Strix board has.

You have to use that horrible rubber thingie for the Corsair H115i and screw into that but you think I could find those standoffs, not a chance in hell . Hard to find the parts as they didnt have the H115i listed but the H100i looks to have the same motherboard fittings but for 10 quid and no idea of the shipping costs and how long on the prison Ship to downunder I have purchased a replacement H115i to get the 4 standoffs. So have the mobo and 8700K installed sitting and just waiting ...

And my other PC died so had withdrawal systems as I had stripped down my rig ..I actually prepared for this . Anyway, have put it back together so I can get my daily fix.

Just a very unofficial sort of comparison between old Asus Strix mobo and the new Aorus Gaming 7 for the 370 platform and have to say bar for the Sound the Strix is a lot better mobo

The Aorus software for the mobo and GPU is appalling but then Aura for the Asus Strix wasnt much better..........would be nice if either of them could tie in with Corsair Link but at the moment would just be happy if the GPU and mobo both worked together.

The memory is really close together on the Aorus with not much of a gap ( had to change my GPU cooler orientation so the USB connection and Memory didnt try to hog the same real estate).

Anyway after heaps of problems along the way and after suffering numerous brain fades in putting the fans of the H115i correctly I was surprised that it booted first up and after windows did some changes it went into win10

But would I buy this motherboard again.........TinyTom said he didnt rate it because of the price been more expensive then the ROG model but its actually cheaper and it tells. For a top of the range model it just lacks and I am even considering selling it and getting something else ...maybe a cheap aRock model would be better

I've got this board too and I'm not that impressed with it so far either. Today I realised the RGB fusion app has a process that uses a sizeable amount of cpu in the background constantly and the app in general is really buggy with terrible UI design to match. I also read today on the Gigabyte forums that some people are having problems fitting their gtx 1080 ti cards because of the heat shield for the audio :/

had someone in the ocau forums ( oz ) saying the same thing ( a PM ) about the card not fitting correctly and he had pics and asked me but I didnt want to remove my card....its not a clean fit but its working

I am not sure if its a case of the Aorus software like RGB Fusion not liking the Corsair Link software but I know RGB Fusion and the Aorus Graphic Engine software dont like each other. All up very disappointed with this mobo...

btw: will try and get some pics up on the card been blocked

Hey mate,

I noticed you have a z370 gaming 7 and aorus 1080 ti also.
I'm trying to install my 1080 ti into the motherboard but the Amp-up audio cover is stopping the card from sitting correctly in the pcie slot. Did you have this problem?

Thanks,

have read that is you remove the shroud that covers the sound ( 2 screws at the back of the motherboard ) this fixes the problem but for me is how the fark do they test their products

finally have found a solution for the Samsung 950 M.2 drive not been bootable or seen in the BIOS...yes drive could be used in Windows but in the BIOS it didnt show and you could not make it your bootable drive

Change one setting in BIOS to Legacy instead of the default setting ....on the BIOS page of the BIOS (strange ) go to Storage Boot Option Control and change it to Legacy. Apparently something specific to do with the Samsung 950 Pro M.2 drive

and for Fusion...just use the BIOS to change your settings, dont touch the software
