Are Opterons going to stop shipping?

Can anyone confirm this? Some people are saying AMD is going to stop, and others say that retail will continue. Reason why im asking is im holding off my new system for the refresh of cards from ati, which will be in the end of january.

Doubt it, dual core opterons are on the way, although I've only seen them stateside so far.

AMD is going to stop production of the socket 939 Opterons as we know them today but will continue to support socket 940 Opties until the socket shifts have been made in the new year.

Someone confirmed to me that AMD said this themselves, that they will keep making 939 Opterons until Nov 06. Dunno.

I heard that they were going to phase out opty's by Q2 '06 but thats just what I heard :eh:
