I've just orded an Artic Freezer Extreme cooler, to cool a q6600. I've read they can be quite tricky to fit, has anybody had any experience of them?

Cheers!

You've just made a big mistake. I am sorry I haven't done a review on the forums for you..

My mate has a Q6600 and he is getting bad temps out of it.

He used to get better temperatures with his TT V1 heatsink.

The Xtreme only cools about 2C (max) better than the AC7.. thanks for the long wait for nothing AC!

d'oh! I'll let you know my experiences when it arrives. The only review I found was positive, but mentioned the difficulty fitting it.

Thanks for all the replies.

It's not the cooler that causes bad temps, it's the mounting mechanism. It uses plastic clips  Just buy thermalrights lga775 mountkit with the backplate and that'll increase the pressure.

This is extreme on my Q6600. problem is sometimes bios after swiching pc on showing CPU FAN Error. Its working on Low speed like around 500-600 RPM keeping cpu on temp. from 23C windows/desktop in games till around 40C.
