anyone use any of the Aquaero 5 units in their pc at all?

was just after the thoughts of users as to if its worth the money and the pro and cons of using it

You should watch a review about it. I did, and I liked it, it's just that at the time of the review the software wasn't developed yet, so it was pretty difficult to manage everything from the 3 buttons, you had to buy a remote which made things alot easier but probably not as easy as using a software.
Personally I would buy it, it looks nice, good quality components, works good, it has alot of features the screen looks pretty good and doesn't feel cheap at all.

I am using all three variants (XT, Pro & LT) Not all in the same rig you understand ;)... Although am using the Pro & LT (LT as a slave device) in the same PC.
There's nothing else on the market that I know of that can do what these Aquaero 5's can do..

It can take a wee bit of work to get your head around everything these units can do as regards to monitoring & letting you decide how the cooling is applied e.t.c. but if you take it slow & read up on things before you go connecting all a-sundrie to it's various connections before you understand the basics, you'll be fine..

It's not too difficult with a bit of patience & learning, once you get it set up as YOU want it, It will just do it's thing in the background leaving you with peace of mind that should anything go awry with your PC (depending what alarms you set) this unit will warn you, or shut down completely (again depending on what alarms you set up) your PC & in so doing protect all your Preciousness you have in your case :)...

All with the added bonus that you can make up charts to show either in the software or on your desktop of pretty much any sensor you have connected to the Aquaero, Be it pumps, Rad Fans or Air cooling fans, CPU & GPU die temps, motherboard temps, water temps set up various alarms to react as you want with warnings or complete shut downs e.t.c e.t.c..

For me personally, I wouldn't use anything else now & it's correct that the original software & firmware were abit hit & miss at the start, But this is now well sorted for most users now & the software is pretty damnded smart & once you get your head around things is fairly easy to set up.
There is a lot too set up though remember depending on what you want from the unit.

All the best

thanks for the info guys. im gonna start looking at buying some kit then although im thinking the LT version so i can hide it out of site some where.

is there any extras you guys would say is good to get? like the inline temp sensors, flow meter etc

dependant on how many fans you plan to run, I would strongly advise to get the Aquaero Water Block or the 20mm Heatsink at least, (the cooler the fan VRM's are kept the more fans you'll get away with attaching upto the allowed wattage draw of 10w per channel)..

As for inline temp sensors, any inline temp sensor that has the same two pin connection will be fine & as for flow meters again you can use other makes of flow meters providing they have the correct connection (three pin) or choose one of AC meters (for the MPS meters you need to have some idea of what you estimate the flow will be as to which MPS Flow meter you choose).

There are 3 Variants of the NEW MPS flow meters MPS 100 = 20>100L/ph, MPS 200 = 40>200L/ph or MPS 400 = 80>400L/ph. If your not sure what the flow will be then you can get the the older flow meter versions The older High Flow G¼" or The newer USB High Flow G¼" (the USB version will pretty much do the same thing as the MPS meters) The High Flow G¼" Flow meters will handle much more flow from 40>1500L/ph. The choice is yours :).

The MPS/Aqualis range of products can be either attached via the USB to Motherboard USB header (runs as a stand alone controller/monitor) or connected to your Aquaero with an Aquabus Cable (can be controlled/monitored via the Aquasuite software) or both together (not much point to this though in my opinion)

You need to remember that you can only attach 4 MPS sensors at any one time via the Aquabus connections on the Aquaero..

Anyway hope that helps a little & gives you something to have a good look over to decide which way you want to go e.t.c..

Have Fun
