Aqua Computers release their KryoM.2 Micro M.2 SSD cooler

I was all set to come into this thread and rip into the ridiculous price they are charging but TBH that's actually not bad at all. You could probably get a suitably sized chunk of alu from Hong Kong for about a fiver, but you would have to glue it on.

Ill buy one.......

FINALLY

I sticked some raspberry heatsinks on my 950 Pro... on top of the sticker to avoid losing the warranty. Dropped about ~10°C on the NAND sensor, probably the same on the controller

This solution should be even better in terms of performance

I have the original Kryo m.2 cooler and it works great. Never had throttling issues with it. The micro version looks great especially for those with green pcb's to hide.

I'd be really interested in a video showing different SSD's with and without this (or other) heatsinks. I'm curious if they help or hamper performance.

I use some alu heatsinks from Alphacool on my SM951. Works extremely well, but of course I had to remove that annoying sticker

dont think I'm having heat issues with mine but what program are y'all using to view the temps?? Mine are in raid 0 maybe thats why I cant find the temps on them.

ok I found it in hwinfo while running crystalmark m.2.1 hits 72c with an average of 53c and m.2.2 hits 58c with an average of 43c m.2.2 is under the m.2 shield on my MSI Z270 Gaming M7 so it might be worth looking into coolers for them well at least one but if I can get them cooler I'd most likely do the same for both.

Going to fire up some gaming later and see if they get any hotter. Which I doubt as my games are on my samsung 1tb ssd the only game on my m.2's is star wars battlefront which should be on the games drive lol missed it during install.

luckily there is no software required otherwise you would get hit with their new license fee introduced. :( I'm still not happy about that with my XT6

License fee? Uh oh! I only use Aquasuite to control my Farbwerk, but if that costs money now, I sure as hell am not paying for it.

Regarding temps, it makes me wonder why they don't just put it on the backside of the PCB? They don't need that much airflow so it's ok, and it avoids being stuck under a GPU that is running nearly 80C with next to no airflow

well as I expected my m.2's did not heat up whilst gaming simply due to the fact the games are on a separate 1TB Samsung 850 evo ssd
