Apple's new A11 Bionic chip delivers a huge performance boost to the iPhone 8 and X

You're doing no such thing, you're just spouting a load of rubbish like it's fact and then whining when people call you on it and try to hide behind "personal preference". I guess every forum needs a clown and you're doing a bang up job of it.

That went right over your head. Not surprised that happens with people who use pathos instead of logos.
That "personal preference" was used because that's what was described by someone who isn't me. Nice try at a joke, you're great at it. At least follow the thread if you want to chime and whine.

Again call it what you want. It's rubbish to you because you're feelings are hurt that I just so happen to dislike Apple more than I do Android. Sure I use Android but I don't think it's perfect. The only person whining is clearly you, I was telling someone what I can see based off my experience with Apple phones, and that clearly upsets you enough to come in and attempt to call someone out. You also forgot to read in your quick fury to respond because your emotionally influenced atm, that I even said all phones can last if you take care of them. But that went over your head too. Because ya know. One bad thing about Apple and you lose your mind over it

The only clown I see is you. You have to resort to an insult to try to end a simple debate over an electronic? How sad. Just goes to show how precious and unaccepting people are over different opinions these days.

NeverBackDown has a point, my Mum's iPhone 5 screen went yellow on one edge, got slower and the battery died like completely. She's got ONE month to pay on her iPhone 6s and it's now started to diteriate in speed (she claims) and battery. Also the "New iPad" whichever gen that was we still have and it's still going daily but it's so slow!

I don't want to believe it but part of me thinks they are designed to last just a couple of years. Oh and I got my Series 2 Watch last Christmas and the battery is nowhere near as good as it was. Neither is the battery case on my iPhone 7 but I can forgive that as it's heavily used.

That's what I have thought to Shaun. That they are designed to break or somewhat degrade after a certain period of time to get people to want to upgrade. Not saying they do, but certainly seems that way. They use top grade batteries last I checked, but I guess people just use them that much it doesn't matter. That's the only non conspiracy theory I got on it

Although this I can agree on. The battery may be top grade, but remember that people use their phones today more than ever and batteries that gets used alot, but also charged, used, charged, used, charged etc etc degrades the batteries life faster and significantly. Therefore I think most people just experience them being bad just after a year or so, forgetting that they get used most likely rather heavily 24/7 365 days a year.

I don't think I would go so far as saying that Apple stuff is well made. It's made from more expensive materials but sometimes that can be a hinder, rather than a good thing. The amount of laptops like mine I've seen with dents in... I think if I gave it a tough life it wouldn't last very long.

I've heard it before that Apple products purposely only last a certain length forcing you to upgrade and at first I thought it was nonsense but now it's starting to seem that way a little. Even my iMac, it's perfectly capable and it's hardly ever used. Like never used but it seems slower than when I first got it. Yet nothing's changed?

The topic of deteriorating iPhones is probably related to iOS and how Apple simply doesn't care that much about supporting legacy devices. But tbh it's the same with Android phones in my experience, after about 2 years they are too slow to run everything installed on it. Factory reset and it's fine again.

I've had better luck with iPads (I wouldn't even consider other tablets after working with an array of Android ones) and I'm still happily using my second gen mini flawlessly. It has superb battery life too. I can leave it locked for a week and it will lose maybe 1% of battery.

Apples Macbooks are different though, I've experienced nothing but pure bliss compared to Windows laptops. The OS is on a different level to iOS.

Isn't that the case with pretty much anything/everything though? ^_^

Nope not really. Certain pairs of my headphones are showing serious wear. Like the leatherette is peeling etc. Others that I use for 17 hours a day sometimes still look like when I got them.

My Macbook is a lovely looking thing but yeah, I would not want to give it a hard life. My Alienware M11X on the other hand was as solid AF and I even dropped it twice haha. I never had the hinge issue with that either.

Android tablets are probably not as good as iPads I would agree. But overall tablet sales are shrinking so I guess it is less an issue. There just isn't any great Android tablet and the ones that are are so expensive. Honestly the best Android tablet is probably the Nvidia shield! Just stinks it's kinda old. If Nvidia updated there tablet I would definitely buy one instantly

I will put this down on the table right now. I hate Android with a passion. So many security issues and just a very very poor mobile OS. Yes it's customization is neat but that's really all it has going for it. iOS is secure and stable but doesn't let you customize it a lot.

I gave both a fair try when Android came out.....then tried Apple and never looked back.....at least not without a very sour taste in my mouth at Android.

That is my opinion and I will stick to it so don't bother trying to fight it....you won't win. ;)

That said.....I look forward to seeing what this new chip can do. I am not one of these " Oh! It's a new iPhone so I must get it! " dummies. I use what I have until it either gets too slow ( I still use an iPhone 5S and before that I had a 4 non s ) or damaged....which has never happened to me even without a case.

Lets see where this goes Apple.
