Apple has taken the wraps off a refreshed and almost complete new version of MacOS X: “Leopard”, widely perceived as Apple’s answer to Windows Vista.

I think the best page on the WWDC 2007 is this one

Some amazing stuff on there. Some shots of the new iD Software engine aswell as news of full multicore optimisations to some of the base functions of OSX.

Multicore optimized.

Leopard features improved scheduling, memory management, and processor affinity algorithms to make better use of multiple cores. Several subsystems (TCP networking, the autofs automounter, NFS server) have been rewritten to be fully multithreaded. Also, POSIX thread allocation has been optimized to support the new NSOperation APIs.

The new 64bit stuff seems good aswell :) 64bit OpenGL  :D

On a sidenote about OSX being Apples 'answer to vista', I'm pretty sure they wern't that worried about Vista and doubt they lost many (if any) custom from the release of Vista. Possibly the opposite with people wanting to dual boot their Mac's with Vista.

I do think the term "Vista, Microsoft's answer to OS X" is/was fitting on the release of Vista tho as it has so many key features copied from OS X

I have yet to see Vista in real life but this OS from Apple looks and sounds slick.

As a pc user I doubt I'll ever see Leopard but will be adopting Vista when SP1 comes out...

Ohhhh man *hyperventilating*....

Screw this PC crap, I want my Mac back!!! *burst in to tears* Why did I have to sell my MBP, WHY??!??!

Out of curiosity, I know nothing about Macs... I assume you can game on them, do everything you can with a pc... Can you overclock them?

I'm toying with getting a lappy, I could try Mac...

The day CS:S works flawlessly on OS X without having to install extras, i will try it :)

Send a letter to Valve telling them to code a Mac native version then :)

Yup, you can do everything and run everything a PC can on a Mac with the added benefit of OS X which totally lays the smackith down on Windoze. Can't OC em though, Mac's don't actually use a Basic I/O System, they use Extensible Firmware Interface's (EFI for short). They could easily be programmed to allow for overclocking, but Apple doesn't want to have to deal with us overclocking freaks breaking their purdy hardware, can't blame em.

Edit: OS X on latest Intel hardware is rip-

fast to begin with, no real "need" to overclock. When I had my MBP I never felt that I needed more power, everything was uber lightening fast.

I want to try a mac as iv never used one before anyone know of someone wiht a old one they dont want and want to give it away?

I have an old beige PowerMac G3 sitting in the corner of my room that I don't use any more, where do u live mate? I have modded KEXT version of OS X on it. Runs fairly well for its age.

I did that once, but it started overheating and I couldn't afford to water cool it.
