AOC announces their G2590VXQ FreeSync budget-oriented display

Just out of curiosity: Do people actually use 75Hz monitors for gaming? I've honestly never heard about such a monitor and I've only glanced at 120Hz and later 144Hz.

I do have one

Currently I am using one that has a refresh rate of 75hz. Though I have found out there are quite a few TN panels which will overclock to 75hz if you set them to the "LCD Reduced" preset, like in the NVIDIA control panel. Is it worth it though? I do see a difference when swapping between the 2, so for me yes I definitely think it is worth it.

75Hz used to be quite common when the standard monitor size was 19" and resolution 1280*1024... It's slightly better for gaming than 60Hz but that's about it.

I'm a gamer that never plays any fastpaced games, I like CRPG, Strategy etc. My LG 075 Hz Ultrawide freesync monitor that I currently have suits me great. However I would never go with a TN panel.

Like most things, higher refresh rates do offer diminishing returns after a while. 60-75Hz is not a transformative change, but a 25% increase in potential frame output isn't insignificant.

75Hz is a nice thing to have over 60Hz, but the main selling point of this display is its freeSync range of 30-75 and its low price.

75Hz is a bit awkward for 30/60fps video, though. Not a problem with a standalone player capable of adjusting refresh rate but web video will suffer, unless you just always use 60Hz on desktop.
