Well yeh, i have quad core, 4gb ram and a dx10 card - even 2 raptors in raid 0

i still want more performance and wondering if there are specific tweaks you swear by

such as, turning off indexing, but im guessing this won't help a higher spec machine such as my own

You were the first to comment on Rasta's thread !!!

indeed but the outcome of those tweaks weren't much

just wondered if stuff like aggressive caching on hard drives will help

Gotta go do some stuff, but if u post a link to this aggressive thing, I'll give it a go on a gaming pc that's due a reinstall.

That sounds vaguely familure in the sense that when I went to check b4, it was already set.

I'll check it out this evening when I get home, there is a game I've noticed has gotten slower loading scenes (TheLastRemnant), which u can gauge by an animation they use.

I'll go through that auslogics defrag too, free stuff ftw.

EDIT: if it's any reflection on Vista's defragger, the pc I just installed Auslogic's one on, ( 2x 500g WDC in raid0 ) showed as almost all green (not fragmented) minus probably 5 blue squares (fragged) and 1 yellow (mft). The pc is set to auto use the Vista one at 3am or something.
