I've got an nvidia 295 to mess with for a bit before it goes in the lads computer has anyone run AMD and nvidia gfx in an asus rog board and does it improve performance significantly?

You can't run AMD and Nvidia together, they run off different drivers and are incompatible.

I agree with SieB the drivers will fight each other and will cause big problems.

You CAN run a AMD card as primary and a Nvid just for Physx,but considering all the hassle to get it working,its not really worth it.

Which ROG board do you have

does it have a Lucid Hydra chip

I've mixed cards on my MSI Marshall and it works

A GTX460 and a HD4870 plays great

Ye Hydra chip needed, I see on ASUS info it has a Lucid Virtu chip, not the Lucid Hydra

I spotted that this morning. I did consider for about 30 seconds trying to get hold of an msi big bang, but decided against it and bought a raystorm waterblock/phobya rad and hose instead.
