Hey guys..

I was just wandering if anyone knows of any 27-30" (preferably LED) monitors with 120Hz and at least 1920x1080 res.. I've been searching around and found a few from Samsung and LG.. Oh and also I don't care about having any 3D capability.

Thanks in advance

I'm sure there must be some screens out there with 120Hz but without 3D?.. Anyway as I said I don't mind if it has 3D or not.. If it does then bonus.. If not oh well

I know its not 3D or LED or 120Hz but my Hanns. G HZ281 28" monitor is epic.

picture is great and it runs at 1920 x 1200.

How?

As far as I know each 120 Hz LCD Monitor on the market is 3D capable - maybe I'm wrong.

Of course you need 3D Vision kit or iZ3D drivers with 3D glases to use 3D

You're not wrong. You WILL need 120hz or better for 3D vision gaming. IZ3D Requires its own proprietary monitor. By not mentioning the use of a 3D kit, drivers, or the graphics card is a silly argument. Thats like saying a monitor isn't 3D capable because you don't have a computer to hook up to it lol

3d is more than 120hz. a great example is my sony bravia. its 120hz but NOT 3d ready. there is a secondary process that renders the 3d in the TV.

it is true that 3d tv are 120hz, but not all 120hz tvs are 3d.

personally i recommend the same monitor i have. its the P2770h. not 3d but very sexy looking, fast, and has an AMAZING picture quality that only LEDs can rival. its also fairly thin, but can not be hung on a wall.

Thats a TV. It depends on the technology you are using that determines if it is or isn't "3D Ready". You will always be able to use 3d vision with a 120hz monitor given you have the right connectivity. Nvidia 3D vision, 120hz, 60hz per eye.

its like we say in the cable biz all HD is digital but not all digital is HD

absolutely correct. yeah whoever said all 120mhz are 3d is incorrect. 120mhz was out long before current 3d solutions heck even 240mhz were out for a spell before they started launching 3d apps.

Funky is just looking for a 120mhz 27inch monitor.

Its not the 120hz that makes it 3D though, its the the utilization of the 120hz by the graphics driver to render frames for each eye. But yeah i've been trying to find a monitor for him. His original post said he found a few. What is wrong with them i'm just curious?

that is what i said. 120hz is needed for nice 3d but not needed to do 3d. some old 75hz CRTs can produce 3d but those are hard to come by, my old samsung 75hz was able to do 3d. and you need to rephrase your last sentence. not all 120hz monitors/tvs can do 3d no matter what connectivity you use. now it may be that the ONLY 120hz monitors on the market happen to be 3d but the same thing applies to monitors as it does with TVs. i understand how 3d works with 120hz bun not all tvs/monitors can do it. also monitors and tvs are the same thing, one just has a tuner in side.

Well sure you can do it on 75hz. I can also play Crysis at 800x600 on my geforce 6800. But what kind of experience is that?

i wasnt making it seem like it was a good experience, it was actually quite painful to look at. got some really bad headaches.

lmao, I saw Avatar at the Imax in 3D, and I upchucked in the mens room.

Black, I think a 600hz TV is a marketing ploy. Im not sure you will get any sort of input to it, that will use 600hz. 600hz "sub-field" They just render the same image many times over. Its a sticker that helps move units.
