Hi all, just been playing around in the bios last coupled days and trying to get best stable oc,on my phenom2 x6 1055t.

I managed a 3.5 ghz on wednesday, which is the most i've been able to squeeze out of the cpu on this board i have at present, however today i did a bit more tinkering and managed a 3.85ghz oc.

Latest OverClock

Is there anything that should cause concern voltage wise,as i'm always a bit sceptical when it comes to oc'ing, and dont want to be without a system

I'm also bsod'ing on boot at 180 x 14.

it's your mobo

as scotty would say "she cannye take any morrr cappin. push it anyee more an shill blow"

i would drop back to 3.5-3.7 (off turbo), and wait til you get a better mobo

i upgraded the cheap way... i had my 1055t on my old AM2+ mobo, and after eons of looking for future contentors it was a toss-up between the C4E and my power edition, after watching ALOT of reviews and reading alot more benches, i opted for the the one i now have after watching ttl's review.

IMHO - i think the msi 870A fuzion power edition is the best mobo for a NON-BE phenomII chip

if you were thinking of upgrading to a 1090T/1100T then the ROG maybe a good contender (if it wasnt for the NB fan)

i managed a little more!.so close to 4ghz

3.95

that was by underclocking the ram though.

My sons having this system for his rig end of the month,i'll be upgrading to a Gigabyte UD5,and a 2500k

the HUGE downside to the non-BE editions is the locked multiplier

x14 doesnt multiply very well. damn you AMD - x15 would have been a better lock

Couldnt agree more, although there are boards with x16 arent there?,but only work on black edition cpu's or something?

I'm no expert at this by a long shot,in fact not overclocked since my old athlon xp 3500

i think i have seen a x23 on 1090T bench recently (for a 200x23 4.6GHz OC)

it's not the mobo that locks the multiplier - but is build into the chip itself

ah that was it,was reading about the black edition cpu's.

I've always been a fan of amd tbh because of the oc'ing abilities on them, and price, but intel seem to be stepping things up lately,so gonna give them a shot on next system.

cool

i may not be able to help you OC intel's when you take that plunge, as i have only just got one myself, and i am learning intel tweaking
