Why would you drop your case? When dropping a case I would say that the pressure on the socket is one of the least worrysome problemsJesus, can you imagine dropping your case? That's A LOT of weight on the socket right there.. surely that would give uneven pressure?

When I first saw the Thors Hammer cooler I thought precisely the same thing. It's cringe worthy as hell.. also with CPUs getting ever more energy efficient and lower TDP what's with all the monster coolers.Accidents happen? Even just moving it about with that much hanging off the socket would make me nervous..

Get modding fellaHow hard can it be to make a tiny mod so the cooler can "Hang" from the top of the case?
Not very i Think.
With CPU's now the issue is overloading the IHS.
6700K can be fine up to a point then 0.025v more and its over 100c - thats just down to the IHS not being able to dissipate the heat quick enough. Thats the time if you NEED those volts you have to lap/delid
I miss the early AMD days where we had bare dies. IHS's have their place.. and they make installation easier, but I'd prefer to have a bare CPU die and a shim any day.
Get modding fellasure it'd be well received.
