Another amateur to water cooling.

So I recently got Age of Conan for my pc and after a few hours of play, my room gets ridiculously hot as does my pc. So I'm looking to switch to watercooling which i hope will solve my problem..Ive read some of the guides and stuff but I would be a lot more comfortable if someone in the south Florida area would meet with me and help me out. I realize this forum is mostly out of states but yeah w/e. I have a mid size case, its uhhm..

Would that be big enough to set up water cooling? I have a 780i board, e6850, 8800gtx.

also, when you set up water cooling, can you still keep some fans in for air + water ? Thanks for the help. It'd be great if someone could pick out parts for me and link em on newegg or something. :S thank you. lets try to keep it under 400 buckaroos. And yes, I am an idiot.

I think you will have to give more info, e.g. what would you like to water cool? The cpu or northbridge or graphics card or a combination?
 
I knew I forgot something. CPU an Video card I think is enough right? :O I can still keep some fans going in there Buzz!
 
Before we get deeper into recommending kit etc. You are aware water cooling doesn't make you chips dissipate less heat. it is a more efficient cooling method, meaning it carries the heat the CPU produces away form it better, lowering the running temperature.

Meaning if anything your room will get hotter.

Right?

Spot on, If your room is hot already. It will be even hotter. Get an airconditioning unit for your room and stick the pipe out the window. I sure you could get a decent one for the same price as watercooling.

Or get a big fan and open your window. lol :p
 
shoot. Well i only mentioned the hot room thing because i thought that was contributing to the hot components in the pc since..hot air being taken in would just be hotter air going out.. lol. So now I'm stomped. What do I do
 
Well water cooling would lower your temps if you found away to take the hot air out of your room. E.g an air conditioner.

put up a price and i'll see what i can put together if need be u can send ur pc to me and i'll assemble it all and test it out the main concern though is room temp as the components can only be cooled as cold as the air cooling them.
 
hmm my room is running cooler then when I was when on air. I was running 8800GTX in SLI which exhausted some serious heat into the room which on hot summers days that gets a bit too hot. Even the side of the case was hot to touch.

Now though on water cooling the case stays cool as does the room so I deffo wouldn't say it makes the room hotter. I think a lot of the heat energy is kept within the liquid it never reverts back to idle temps even after passing over multuiple rads. Where as before the air is constantly taking the heat and pushing it out into the room.

everyone else think that stuff is good? :O Thanks alot man that was real cool of you to go look stuff up for me. Also, did you pick one from all these sites because its cheaper that way? looks like a lot of different places to order from haha. ill check newegg or something that i could get the whole order in from. And about sending my computer to you..uh.. i dont know you, and i would die if i couldnt shoot things for a week. also those were the main pieces, what about the cabling and juice or w/e else i need to get. I dont think ill get the chipset coolers since they stay okay on air, and i didnt really figure out what the heck a mosfet is.. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: For the GPU block, i would have to take off the thing on the card currently? like unscrew the fan and the big thing on it off? (death)
 
its not that hard realy just undo the screws and jently pull it off. its np finding the stuff for ya. i picked some of the best stuff off the sites that had it and wasnt really thinking of shipping sry. as for tubing and coolant just use any tubing u want i use tygon but u can use watever. coolant is pretty much the same u can buy it or make ur own. i understand bout sending it out to me but it wouldnt take a week i could have it together in 2 days max (provided i have the parts goin into it) and shipped out, but if not i dont care its up to u. all the best on getting that beasty up and going
 
Thank you all for the advice, i went on youtube and watched numerous videos on how to set things up and i feel confident that I'll figure it out. One thing though. Would that whole setup fit in my case? I think I linked it in an earlier topic its an aspire mid atx case. And about the radiator, does it have to go up on the top of the case, blowing air out? or can it sit at the bottom? I'm not sure im comfortable making a huge hole in my case, but i could get my father to do it so its fine. Thanks
 
The rad really needs to draw cool air from outside the case so place it where u think is best, ideal lower down at the front of the case.

Space could be an issue, I have full tower case that is huge, but once rads, pumps, res and plumbing is in place there really aint much room left.
 
its not cheap but theres only 2 BIG cases i know of the tt mozart tx and the lian li b342 (i think thats the rite one its a big cube case)
