Android Screenshots help

I want to take android screenshots as I design Icons and themes for the Android OS, but cannot take screenshots. I know I can do so if I install some programs and what not and connect VIA usb, or if I root my device, which I don't want to do.

Could someone guide me through this operation? I tried going through some of the guides and they can be a bit vague, and sometimes don't tell me if I need to install other software for this stuff to work.

Any help would be great.

Which android device are you using?

You can use the android sdk to take screenshots

also if your device is rooted there are apps in the android market for screenshots.

If your developing for android would guess you already have the sdk
