and now it begins!

ok i finally got my OC sorted and this is what it looks like

4GHz.jpg

plan is to run the CPU folding 24/7 and the GPU when i am not gaming or sleeping as the card gets to a nice and toasty 80C at them clocks and then it isn't silent

GPU is fully stable but the CPU might require some work only tested it for 8 hours and i plan on running it 24/7

i just hope i dont kill my CPU as it is getting old, ran at 4GHz+ most of its life

meh gives me a reason to get SB-E if it does die

EDIT: Damn its loud

if i do go SB-E then i will watercool both CPU and GPU as this is too loud and hot for my liking

strawbs is that the highest satble OC for the gtx 570 phantom? did you try pushing it any higher? i have the same card as well that i want to oc aswell

nah for benching and gaming i could have it as high as 925 on the core but long term the temps suck and the noise sucks even more.

temps atm are sitting around 84C on the card

what settings would you use for 900mhz? i have failed on many occations :\

Volts?

Memory clock?

Clock:900mhz

Thanks

memory clock i leave at stock when at the higher clocks the volts is normally 1100mV on afterburner

i just tried you clock andsettings for 850mhz on core and unigene 2.5 froze on me, a fatal error came up.... dpes this mean the oc is unstable?

yep,

don't think you have as good a card as me if it can't handle that
biggrin.gif

my card used to besoo much better before, its been dooing bad recently on stock i used to get min 50fps on unigene but now im getting min 37.....

do you think my card is dieing can a card be defective but still sort of work?

mr. strawberry if your 570 get hot at those clocks and then because of that becomes too loud to have on at night why don't you set two profiles in afterburner. one for gaming or whatever and set another with lower volts so you can fold more (even if there is a slight decrease in ppd, the fact that you'd run it so much longer would be more benefical i think) i mean if your computer stays on 24/7 to fold with your cpu it seems like a waste not to fold with the gpu 24/7 as well, excluding gaming of course.

even at the stock after a while the temps get hot enough to drive the temps to the point where i can't sleep with it folding, at the weekend i am going to change my room around a bit so my pc is closer to the open window instead of the other side of the room

48°C in idle?

got 2 monitors plugged in so even when on desktop it is at 3d clocks due to how NV's drivers handle clocks

ooh dam. kk

yea you should try that, i have my pc on the same side as the widow and its nice to leave it open all the time because it doesn't get cold when the pc is folding but it does let you have , fresh air = win-win
