An aftermarket Steam Deck screen upgrade is coming, and its not a good idea

A "better" screen is a great thing, but better in the case of the steam deck does not mean higher res imo.

Energy efficient, Great colour accuracy, High refresh rate (although even this is debatable), less bezel, is where the priority should go

I would be willing to deal with a 1080p screen for my Steam Deck only if it was OLED and ideally capable of 90hz+ refresh rate but actually wouldn't be a dealbreaker.

If it's still an LCD, just please make it IPS, or VA and call it a day, that's all I want, stay at 720p, over 60hz would be a bonus but idc.

It can't even reproduce 99% SRGB, I don't know what chinese manufacturer calls that an IPS but that's just the name they give to it in my book, not reality.

IPS isn't color reproduction. It's just how they form the crystals. Low quality IPS still exist. Low quality VA also exist.

I understand, and I realize now that I've worded it pretty badly in my previous comment, what I meant was that in my book I don't recognized those as VA or IPS, especially if you show me an IPS with bad color volume. And I don't care if any manufacturar calls it IPS or if it is produced using the same production method as IPS, it will always be TN to my eyes, and that's what matters, if I bought a monitor that sais OLED, 360hz 4k on the box but it looked like crap to my eyes I'd return it, even if it actually was an OLED at 360hz and 4k res.
