AMD's Ryzen CPUs will reportedly launch without 6-core variants

That doesn't make any sense to me. Economically for AMD it might somewhat make sense, but it bellies the Intel hatred from guys AlienATX who seem to feel we've been cheated on by performance. If AMD only matches Intel, would that not make AMD just as liable for harsh criticism? I guess we should buy neither just to spite them, right?

Rhetorical question.

Now this didn't make any sense to me?...

Am I the only one who doesn't think this is a big deal at all? Most gamers are on quad cores, most productivity folks will be happy with 8 cores. 6 is kind of a useless middle ground IMO.

If AMD ever try charging £185 for a dual core processor with HT then believe me I will give them the same reception.
