overpriced and out of stock.

Those days are long gone sadly, I can foresee PC gaming at anything higher than mid range becoming so expensive that even people with decent jobs end up veering away from it.

True. But at the same time, midrange GPUs are now more than capable of 1440p gaming. There's still very good reason to stick to 1440p, and we're getting to the stage where, even in the most cutting edge of games, 1440p/144hz is possible with GPUs at a $300-400 MSRP. In other words, you don't need a 3070 or above to game like a boss. Maxwell required a 980Ti, Pascal required a GTX 1070Ti, Turing required a 2060 Super, and now a 3060 is capable. RDNA3 for example could bring it to the 7600XT class.

those prices are horrendous ......where those cards sit in the stack and that price does not match i would rather go without my eyes arent as good these days initially when i see the price i thought the model was 3080ti i had had to expand page to realise 3060TI is pc gaming ruined ....is it dead..or is it just 4 the select few ......RANT OVER

I think it's just dead for 2021. I don't wanna tell others what to do or downplay their passions, but speaking for myself, I'm focusing on other hobbies until PC hardware sorts itself out. Who knows, maybe this will even benefit hardware in the long run.

I was looking at a 6800XT yesterday as if I could find one then I would have the money for it, if they were not heavily overpriced.

I looked on PCPartpicker because it shows the price history and looked at the Sapphire Reference one, at OCUK it was £693 until Thursday when they decided to ramp the price up to £800.

Yeah I am not interested anymore in getting a new card, I will wait until the scalpers and shops like OCUK have stopped price gouging.

I need to get a HOTAS as well, and the X56 is the one I am looking at and they are suffering from price gouging on Ebay whilst out of stock at most shops.

I am getting closer and closer to just selling my pc's and buying an Xbox if this price gouging keeps going on with PC Parts and peripherals.

Smart thing to do. Game developers will still continue to cater to those who are 1,2,3 or 4 generations behind with their CPU or GPU. Meaning your current gear is good to go for a long time.

Im still on a 7700k and its still rocking strong at 4.9Ghz. Id only upgrade because I wanted to, not because I need to. Im sure the only thing im missing with current gen is the obnoxious A-RGB.

My brother who's a far bigger gamer than me is stuck with a GTX 970 and was waiting for the 3060 before playing Cyberpunk. I thought about swapping cards with him so he could play it on my GTX 1080. It's enough for 1080p/60hz; just no RT.
