more clocks and ipc is whats needed now to keep Intel on their toes.
Nice !
I'll keep my Crosshair VI Hero as it's rock solid and plop in the top end AM4 chip they release, I only run 1 x M.2 drive and 1 x GPU so X470 would be a little useless and wasted money.

I would urge a bit of restraint, the 1800x is nowhere near worth its money compared to the 1700 and i get the impression it wont be much different with the next lot![]()
1800X is at 8700k prices, though.
Yeah I'm with Kong here. They need more than just better clocks to make it a better product. They learned so much, all the companies, there should be 0 excuse on memory issues and much better quality boards(and more ITX/MATX!) alongside better chipsets.
Honestly the price of 1800X doesn't sting that much when 1700 and 1700X have sensible pricing. It's out there to grab the cash of those who want THE BEST. And I understand the irony of saying that as a 8700k owner.Yeah, it is a little too expensive IMO. It was when I got my BE Xeon too. Hopefully this time around AMD won't charge so much for practically so little.

Without sounding like a complete AMD fanboy I would at least cut them a little slack over the memory issues. It's a brand new, never been seen before technology. They are all like this at launch. In fact, when Sandy launched they had to recall practically every motherboard and change the chipset. I would rather have a few memory issues than that, and let's face it it's not like there isn't plenty of info out there telling you what type of memory to buy to avoid headaches.
That's not an excuse for the next refined chip.
Also I never did say it was bad that they had issues with the first launch.
We've heard this before
Looking forward to it. As much as I would love to switch to this new chip from my 6700k I know for a fact I won't have the funds too.
