Keep what you have, Nvidia will be releasing their cards around april/may time probably and they will be similar or better in terms of performance if past releases are anything to go by.

The MG279Q is not a great monitor anyway for competitive gaming. It also has poor QC like many monitors are these days. If you have a Swift you like now, I also suggest keeping it and waiting for Pascal. It'll come out sooner than Polaris so you won't have to wait as long. AMD say mid-2016, but I'm almost positive that it will be Q3-Q4 before it's released fully and available to purchase.

Any adaptive sync monitor is bad for competitive gaming. As is 1080p+ resolution.

I was referring to the recorded input lag when Freesync is turned on with the MG279Q. For 'normal' competitive gaming, other G-Sync/Freesync TN monitors are perfectly fine. Obviously if you want absolutely nothing holding you back for 'high-end' competitive gaming, other monitors perform better.

144hz TN 1080p panel. They're cheap and it won't improve your game skill THAT much. It is only really worth it in the actual competitive scene where people do things like FPS configs at LAN events and panic about polling rates.
You'd get bored of it and return it in... 5 minutes, lets be honest.

My BenQ XL2730Z feels in no way any more limited than my previous Samsung S23A700D, which was a very good gaming monitor for semi-competitive scenarios (as long as you had a dark room). 1080p, TN, glossy screen meant pixels 'popped', 2ms response time (real world scenario was close). The BenQ XL2730Z is no more limited, in my experience.

yeah as the panels are quite similar. The swift is pretty good spec wise for competitive gaming but it still has two things wrong with it (namely G-sync and UHD).
Of course I'm only really talking about quick reaction FPS games, I'm sure monitor refresh rates aren't as important with professional hearthstone.
