AMD will supply Ryzen 2nd Gen users with Boot Kits to update their BIOS

Hm, what would happen if I'd decide to get the "boot kit" processor and just not return it ? Obviously not gonna do it, but wondering what will make people return the processor.

They take a payment from you first, then refund it when you return the CPU. That's how I understand it, any way.

I imagine that it works a lot like accelerated RMA processes, like what I have seen with hard drives in the past.

They take credit card details and pre-plan a payment and cancel it when they receive the RMA'd product and test it. This way they can send a replacement hard drive immediately and change users to then don't send back their faulty product.

In this case, AMD will charge users for the CPU (Likely a Bristol Ridge product) if they don't get it back.
