Hey, i was wondering what was better, the Intel G620 2.6Ghz or the AMD A4-3400 2.7Ghz, I do a lot of gaming but i also use a lot of Photoshop and Autocad.. oe maybe a AMD Athlon II X2 250 AM3.. hum.. Oh yeah, and ive got a 5770 for gaming, since ive got a nice video card, should i go for the Intel G620? Ill be playing BF3 a lot tho. i cant afford a i3 cpu yet. i might OC the cpu i get.

dont get a llano for CAD and photoshopping

intel would be the best choice, but saying that... this sounds like a budget build.

dont expect BF3 to play well on these CPUs

you are better off getting an 2500K bare bones bundle

Are you looking for it to run max settings? What resolution?

I have a G620 with a gtx 470 and I've recently obtained a copy of bf3. I haven't really played that much, but I can test it out over this weekend and see how it runs and let you know.

You CAN'T overclock a G620. I don't know much about overclocking for the amd one.

I'm currently running a g620 with a 470 on 1920x1080.

The g620 ran bf3 fine. CPU usage was 90-100% the whole time, but it didn't seem like much of a problem. I had the settings on auto and pretty much everything was set to high. I was getting a solid 40-50 fps.

I did a bit of research and I found out that bf3 is not really a cpu intensive game, it's more gpu intensive. Apparently, a 2600k would be well under 50% usage when running bf3. With a 5770 and a g620, I would say you should be able to get above 30 fps on high settings.

I would like to also remind you that you can't oc a g620.

I don't have an A4-3400 so I can't tell you anything on that. Sorry.

Hey, sleepylilazn, thanks. i did some research myself and i ended up buyin a AMD Athlon II x2 250 3.0Ghz, just because i have a Noctua cooler, so ill OC the CPU if needed. just incase.. Im going to try out BF3 then ill tell you how it runs. btw, its my firts AMD CPU, and so far, i like it..
