AMD Vega marketing takes shots at Nvidia's Volta architecture

I just wish someone would make a combined Gsync/Freesync monitor so that we aren't locked into one architecture as I for example have a Gsync monitor so if I bought an AMD card it makes my monitor useless to me, so in order for me to get the best out of it I have to buy Nvidia and the same point would be valid had I bought a freesync monitor
I just don't think it's right to be lock into one or the other we should be allowed to have a choice

But that wouldn't be possible though would it? Unless they both approved it?... It's not the same, but I'm thinking in the same terms as of copyright. You'd need Tom's approval in order to use the OC3D logo and Linus's in order to use his?. And I don't think both teams would agree lol.

Maybe I'm off track here though and completely brainfarted?...

Well lets say Asus have bought the rights to make both a freesync and gsync monitor why shouldn't they be allowed to combine the two, if nvidia and amd had half a brain they'd realise it would maximise sales as no one is locked into one camp as one day someone may want to change to your brand but wont if locked

Can't combine them. Different implementations. Also, blame Nvidia. If they would just go the easier route, it wouldn't be a big deal. And the fact they force everyone to follow there standards doesn't help. With the new FS stuff coming out, they definitely won't be compatible at all due to HDR and etc.
