AMD to integrate PCI-E!!

Reports that AMD are going to integrate PCI-E into their processors!

That one is easy, you integrate PCIe onto the chip. Latency for just about everything takes another huge whack, and everything from video to 10 GigE gets faster. For the home, you get more frames and better graphics responsiveness. For the business world, you get latency reduction on I/O, latency reduction on I/O, and latency reduction on I/O as the three most important things.

Makes sense to do this as it would mean graphics would improve by about 10-15FPS, with the reduced latency of this excellent decision

f you were wondering what all those pins on S1207 were for, wonder no more. If you need I/O that scales with the number of CPUs, look no farther. If you want this from AMD, it will happen.

This would really be a step ahead for AMD: just imagine how little latency and the increased speeds that the integrated graphics controller would get ya!! :worship:

This one is a clear win for AMD, or it will be when it comes out. Other than pins, and the associated cost, I really don't see a down side. You can always add more lanes with a HT based controller if you feel limited, but AMD would probably prefer that you add CPUs

Thats one w00t for AMD.....I really hope the Inquirer are right about this - damn that would be good!!

wow that's great and there will really be reduced latency altough this means that maybe cpu needs to do a little more processing so it would reduce cpu perforamnce by a little but it wont be noticable
