it looks like AMD are Looking to Improve CPU Usage on their Catalyst Graphics Drivers as they search for CPU performance engineers to work on "CPU bottlenecks" and "CPU bound benchmarks and games".

Well, what AMD is trying to do is trying to find a way to "patch" the lack of high end CPUs on their side, by finetuning their drivers. Which is not bad, pretty damn good stuff actually.

This could be interesting, although its obvious they need a desktop chip that can run around the i7 for prettymuch same or lower price.

I remember when writing about the catalyst Omega drivers that AMD fixed what their community said were the 10 biggest issues they had with their drivers, i see this as a similar step.

If AMD continue to develop their drivers in this way their drivers will no doubt be fantastic in the future. The shame is that ATM AMD have not released a driver since omega, I want optimised drivers for the newest games and AMD have sadly missed so many in recent months.

This is going to sound real petty to some people, but this section;
AMD said that they were looking for a "CPU performance Engineer" who would work to "optumize" AMD's Catalyst Graphics drivers. His job would be to analyse "CPU bound benchmarks and games to identify a variety of CPU bottlenecks in drivers" in order to optimize them and improve the performance of AMD's graphics hardware.
It caught my eye particularly that the article says "His job would be", could you change that to be a gender-neutral term please? Example; "Their job would be ...".

You raise a good point, I will edit that to a more gender neutral term immediately.

Edit;

The article has been changed now to include a more appropriate term. I did not mean to cause any offence.

Also, welcome to the forums Lithiumix. If you have any further feedback on our articles I would very much want to hear it. the same goes to everybody else who reads this. It is through feedback that we can improve things quickly.

Pretty good read.

I want to know how much more they can get out of the drivers with more CPU optimization and if that benefits not only dx11 but Mantle and DX12 as well. It'd be interesting to see. Even if it didn't give us much more FPS but just made Xfire/framepacing/frametime/consistency across all aspects i think it'd be a solid success in changing everyone's minds about AMDs driver(which are just as good).
