AMD Summit Ridge CPU pricing leaked

So by the looks of it the Special SR7 is going to be the equivalent of the FX9590 which is basically an 8350 highly factory overclocked.

Should be interesting :)

hmmm earlier stories said that the 8 core 16 thread was around the $300 and this new story saying there going to be $350.

So that's already a bump up of $50 and that's even before the retailers get them, They will be cheaper than intel but the question is going to be how much cheaper.

I'm think not that much in the long run.

Hmm. I could swear I hit 1300 points with my 5820k at 4.6ghz. Either that or bloody close. Mind you, that was overclocked.. Wonder what the stock 5960x gets? I will look in a mo.

TBH the 8 cores are expensive. $350 isn't that bad I guess but I am assuming that one is locked. If so it would be easy to get a 5820k or something like it for less and overclock it.

If that quad core is unlocked though? sounds awesome. $150 is a great price for a 4c 8t CPU :)

My 5930K at 4.40GHz hits 1289, May see if I can up it a bit more to over 1300 ^_^

Just speculation. It also depends on which chip people are talking about from there "sources". SR7 could range from the lowest to highest chip maybe $280~350 and the special edition probably $400~420(I'm guessing here) so it is still cheaper than Intel. But Intel have the ability to drop prices. AMD won't. Tides can turn very quickly. This is why people who say "it doesn't have to beat it, just match it at a lower price" are wrong. If it matches it, Intel drop price, then they are already losing the battle. If they want to undercut they need steep pricing differences to where Intel will match prices, not go below. Doesn't seem like it will from all reports. I just hope that it's a lot faster than we think and price premium is good enough to justify if Intel drops there prices

Stock 5960x gets around 1320 points in cinebench, So it seems AMD's zen 8 core is gonna be quite competitive at that price. :b The SR5 Is looking to be the Chip to get, 250$ for a 6 core 12 threads, Maybe i will finally replace my westmere :b

Sigh again.....

Why don't people understand when i'm talking about pricing i'm talking about Australian pricing not British or American pricing.

I'm sticking bye what i have said AMD CPU's will come in cheaper but i don't think they're going to be that much CHEAPER here.

Intel will just match the price and they will still sell the intel cpu's and i have said to before too generally people do buy intel over AMD cause a lot of people perfer intel over AMD.

I've said this too in the past.....I still can't see AMD CPU's being on par with intel CPU in the first GEN it will be even bye the second GEN, These Summit Ridge CPU's they will equal to last gen 6000 series from intel not the 7000 like AMD is saying.

Because the pricing numbers you pulled are from the article. Which is not Australian. If you want it to be known like so, then actually say so instead of us having to assume that. We aren't going to know otherwise
In addition, pricing isn't even the problem here, it'll be the same situation anywhere.

You are agreeing with what I said, I don't understand the argument your making against everything you quoted?

Your the one who quoted me first.

I don't care if it's in American dollars i base my thoughts on what Australian pricing is going to be, It's not my fault you can't understand i'm saying.

Just to make things clearer for everyone as this is an international forum, when listing prices in dollars please can everyone state if they are $US or $AUS or $anywhere else that uses them, and could this also be included in the articles as well as the forum. That way nobody gets confused over pricing information.

KoOS, no offence intended here but you have your location listed as "Parts Unknown". So please don't lose your rag if people don't know you're talking about Australian prices if nobody knows you're from Australia...

Clearly you aren't reading dude. You are coming off as aggressive with your post after you quote me and making an argument when if you read, you are saying exactly what I said. You're making an argument out of nothing here. You need to relax. We all know you don't care. You say it everytime, doesn't mean you can assume we all know what you are saying, just be clear, so we can have a discussion.
