AMD skt 754 Cooling

I've posted this in air cooling but I want some help and advice........

Before we go anywhere

Full system specs:

AMD 64 3200+ Skt 754 (2.2Ghz)

DFI LANPARTY UT 250 Skt 754 NF3

STANDARD AMD COOLING

BFG 6800GT OC 256mb AGP

480w Antec NeoPower PSU

2 x 512 Crucial PC3200 DDR400 with Nexus Heatspreaders

Sony DVD-ROM/CD-RW

All in a Super LAN Boy Case with a single 12" UV Cold Cathode

The bit in bold is what I want to remedy!

Now I have thought about water cooling, but taking a good stare at my case I think its realy too crowded for the minute to fit all the water cooling in.

Now for those who are about to suggest it....a LAN Li will be in my future, but not for a while.....so that's probably when I'll get water.

What I want is a better air cooling system. I'm in the UK so links once again need to be from the UK and from reputable dealers.

I want:

A performance heatsink - was thinking

This one

With a fan....but which one?

Also - I may be adding a fan to the side of my case. I I want it to be 120mm, high CFN, but low noise. Ideally I would like it to be UV reactive and clear. Any ideas?

Another thing - is it worth replacing the front and rear fans in my case with better ones? I LOVE the blue LED effect on the front of the case, so would want another one with a blue LED ideally (both are 120mm)

Did I mention I'm not big on lots of whining fan noise??

Thanks for any help/info.... :wavey:

that's one pretty good cooler or you could go for the Coolermaster Hyper6 or Hyper 48. coolermaster does some great coolers. ;)

imho the XP-120 would be the better option, just make sure that there is going to be sufficient clearance between the bottom of the HS fins and any capacitors. I have heard some peeps having trouble with this due to the lower height of the XP-120. With regards to the fan to go with it... Panaflo or Vantec!!!! I have a Sunon 92mm fan on my XP-90 and it pumps some serious cfm, but is ear bleedingly loud at full speed. I have the fan running at 50% of its capacity, and its barely audible...also it keeps my P4 Northwood at 38 deg C-100% load whilst folding 2 F@H consoles at the same time. Also don't use the thermal goop that you get with the XP-120, its crap...get some AS :) What sort of Lian Li case are you gonna get, personally I would stay away from the V-1000/2000 series at the moment as they have some heat issues in the motherboard area that they are currently addressing. As far as a 120mm fan in the side...A.C Ryan make some sweet UV reactive fans with decent cfm. Hope this helps :)

Cheers PV. Will have a look into those fans. Was trying to be lazy and get some linkies!!

Yeah I'm pretty sure that this will fit fine on the DFI board. I'm going to e-mail kustom PCs and ask them if it'll be ok. They usually reply in about an hour or so with solid advice.

Thinking of an Akasa, as they are easily available over here (for the case)

Oh and soz I didn'y reply to your Lan Li question (flurry of busy-ness at work). I love This one, but then I may buy a Koolance case instead, as they are decent and I like the built in watercooling. Might get This one

What dya think )this is in the future, so no-one get too excited lol) :D

Kempez, I'm selling my XP-90 and High Speed Panaflo in the BST forums for cheap as a set... It's like new and it's cheap, go check it out :)

Well, the stock cooler works great for me, 42ºC, highest I've encountered is 43ºC. So, I really don't have the need for a new one, unless I plan to OC, but I have a Via K8T800 Chipset, so thers no chance of that. If theres any need I might upgrade, soon....but. Zalman coolers are nice, thermaltakes are good too.
