AMD Shows off their Polaris RX 480 GPU running DOOM at 1440p 144Hz

Yeah but from what I understand, it don't show us much. That's a 1080 monitor so it's running VSR. We also don't get to see what settings are used and the actual framerates. I would love to see some actual metrics so we could see what we're talking about. I'm really looking forward to this launch.

I will wait for the real benchmarks to see what Polaris can really do. It has got to be a big performance increase over my 290X Vapor X for me to be interested. Other than that i'll look out for an 8GB Vapor X.

Right, a curved 1080 monitor ....

They make a nice 24 as well. You wouldn't want a curved display that small as your only display but in surround they do look the goods.

Does VSR/DSR take more, less or the same processing power? Just wondering why they didn't use a native 1440 panel or doesn't it make any difference? I played ED in VSR at 4k on a 1080 and it 'looked' better but it took a massive frame rate drop. Mind you I only had one GPU back then.

Ah yes, reading. It is fundamental.

From the article:

The below picture was leaked by an AMD employee last night and was quickly taken offline, likely at AMD's request. The game is running on a Lenovo Y27F monitor, which is a 144Hz 1080p monitor, meaning that the game is running at 1440p by using AMD's Virtual Screen Resolution
