AMD RX 9070 XT VS Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti - AMD calls their GPU the value king

7700XT proves that price usually outweighs all else. See also - why the 3050 sold so well. I would imagine that most of those 3050s went to kids who wanted to play Fortnite with their friends. And thus mum did not want to spend 1p more than she had to.

As for cutting down etc? I'm no silicon engineer but I would say yes. Then again I am not disagreeing with you that it is not worth buying yet... But then I am a 52 year old man with no kids and no dependents. So I would never screw myself to save that 50 quid. However, it doesn't mean I think in a linear fashion. Like I keep saying, price is king. Not sense, or value, or anything else.

Each chip on the wafer costs exactly the same. Each board costs the same. Each piece of memory and power components... ETC ETC ad nauseum but you can see where I am going. The coolers cost the same, etc etc etc. Packaging....

Do AMD want you to buy the 9070? it doesn't look like it. However, that saving will tempt many people. Remember, not every one spends their days watching tech videos and etc. Only a small fraction of users do that.

Yeah, I supposed you're right.

Chances are most 9070xt’s will be between 650 upto 800 maybe more msrp isn’t rrp that is upto the aibs but yes the base 9070 will drop over time but that is why it’s priced closely as the 9070xt is further apart and cost amd the same investment just like any other piece of silicon always been that way or has everyone forgotten the £1000 intel 8 core chips years past 🤷‍♂️

There are actually two 9070XTs. I'm not joking either.

There are the lower wattage cards that I reckon will hit RRP. Then there are the higher voltage models like that oh so sexy Sapphire card that Tom previewed. The one that looks like the Brooklyn Bridge from the side and has the power connector in the backplate.

Those will cost more and rightly so as they need bigger coolers and higher power components. However I'd almost bet my ass someone gets that bios working on the cheaper cards.

Which if they can handle it would be ace.

Yeah a direct bios swap i feel will be zero issue depending on how cheap the cooler is but also most likely possible however I’ll most likely go the sapphire route or the red devil this time thou very depending the xfx is a possibility.

My issue is currently ive a good month before realistically possible as current out goings on things before far more able.

Which is fine but if 800 well whichever card it is would have to be very special and honestly think its 9070 9070xt then aib editions that are 9070xt toxic extreme etc the flagship types that will hit 800 question thou are they going to be worth the extra 100 or are the 700 ones overclock well to that standard anyway so maybe the short wait helps me decide but definitely want one.

Unless I suddenly see a 7900xtx priced below 600 then that really changes my thoughts some simply due to vram alone.

If these cards are priced on point at each level or grade of card they are going to sell out even with 10x stock built up from January.

They are going to take market share thats a definite reality in my view question is how much and how fast but these will sell fast very fast.

Well it sounds like the XT may beat the 5070ti on raster. They do need to be careful though, as it still won't win on RT perf. As such is it going to be worth over the RRP of the ti? I doubt it.

Oh of course they are going to take market share. Mostly as it sounds like they actually have GPUs to sell to people.

Well i feel sure the 5070ti is ahead in dxr and dlss but currently that isn’t worth 500 extra but key thought here is that enough improvements have been made that you don’t need a higher end card in the mainstream the rest can go shell out 1000’s if they want but nah average midrange buyer isn’t going elsewhere i feel sure different story if you could even get a 729 5070ti but truth is it doesn’t exist 🤷‍♂️

I've seen mixed results. HWU shows it performs 6% less than a 5070Ti while others show it 3% less and others even above.
