Yeah, if they're aiming to take on Nvidia's miserable 5060 and 5060 Ti, it would benefit them to have just one model that's actually worth buying.

This is a good thing if AMD actually does this, there's just no excuse for overpriced 8GB GPU's anymore!

I just think it would be better not to mislead gamers and be more honest about things. I think if they do that they will gain more respect, and thus marketshare. It would also stop them getting flogged on social media gaining them more brownie points rather than getting a slating. Which right now would be bad, given people's shift in mindshare.

This is the safest thing to do. If they can't fulfil the demand for GPUs that are well received and in high demand, why waste silicon on a GPU that is niche and will be slated by the press?

Creates less confusion in your product portfolio and makes it more simple for consumers and eventually a simplified supply structure to make it cheaper than the competition who has to market against themselves with 2 variants
