AMD Radeon Vega GPU specifications leak on CompuBench database

I had saved cash for AMD VEGA but i got tired of waiting, so I sold my Soul and went 1080ti AMP EXTREME.....

Would have wanted the AMD equivilant.... just it takes AMD for ever to release VEGA.

I can't see Vega being the better card all round. The 1080Ti will probably be faster overall, draw less power, be cooler, have more titles backing it, better overclocking, and faster driver support. Vega will just be better value for money I reckon and have a longer lifespan.

Disagree on driver support.
Nvidia been dropping the ball on that front lately.
As well as power draw. Both are more than likely going to be rated for 250watts for the top end cards. Speed is a different thing though...

Yeah, drivers are a stretch, you're right.

Power consumption is definitely still a thing though. The Fury X drew more power than the 980Ti and performed behind it, putting a lot of people off (even though it wasn't by much). The 480 draws more power than the 1060 and performs around the same. You'd have to drop the voltage of the 480 to hit 1060 power consumption. Performance-per-watt is an area Nvidia is still king, and I can't see that changing. Not that it's a deal breaker, but it is relevant to the question of, if the 1080Ti was the same price as the flagship Vega chip, which would be the better GPU.

Vega power draw can't be pinned down right now, remember Vega is a fresh arc and AMD have said power usage was a priority. Not in anyway saying it will be lower but I do think it will be a bit better than older SKUs.

I do as well, but they also said that about Polaris and the RX 480 draws 50 watts more than the competitor. The non-reference RX 580's with their overclocks draw as much power as a 1080Ti. AMD might get close to that (maybe within 20-40W), but they'll be a year late.

Yeah AMD have been guilty of being economical with the truth in the past but they have shown with Ryzen they can make big strides in this area. Vega is a whole new architecture so I do think using Polaris as a marker a bit pessimistic. Not claiming any great incite to it mind and they do have a lot of ground to make up. :(

Vega is not a whole new architecture. It's still GCN, but it is having a major overhaul to be a more modern and futuristic architecture.

We need cheaper prices :D

1600 is still far off of well over 2ghz.

I don't think you can compare the two, Clock speedwise.

The Two company's GPUs work in completely different ways buddy.

This is awesome news though,
as the first Benches, i saw leaked for a form of Vega was @1200Mhz, and if I remeber correctly.

It was also on par with the 1070, now with that Huge Boost in MHz on the core it would be on Par at least with the 1080 witch is Great news.

Adding everything together now I'm extremely exited for Vega.

We'll see if the clock disparity matters.
