Have I lost my mind.

Was this not officially released by AMD two weeks ago and rumored a long time before that.

I honestly don't see the point in this version, From a high end GPU price point the Fury X is a good price.

I'd rather pay the small amount extra and go for the Fury X than the non X version and if you are on a budget then just wait a month or so longer until you have the appropriate funds.

costum pcbs and cooler will be allowed on this one

Can't wait till 3rd party OC'ing suites can get their software updated to support these new cards. Then we can see how good they can get.

Sadly I think we've seen the best the Fury X has to offer.

Don't be so cynical.

Any way, as for this card? £400 for a card that's on paper 12% slower than the X. that's £400 for a card about 25% faster than a 980.

And you think that's bad?

This will be the one that sells IMO.

I'm being realistic, I never once said it will be bad please don't twist my words.

AMD have lost a huge amount of sales to people who were going to get the Fury X and because the reviews reflected poorly have now gotten 980 Ti's.

OCUK over here nigh on sold out of 980 Ti's in 1 day because of the lackluster reviews and they are the biggest stockist in Europe.

I'm with Dicey on this one, even in my store, a random dude got the Gigabyte 980Ti Gaming card when I got the EVGA 980Ti.

I think that more people are going for 980Ti's than the Fury X. Personally, I wanted the 980Ti for a long time and even the Swift, plus when the Fury X came out I was very put off by the AIO solution. I don't like them on GPUs, but that's just my 2 cents.

And yes, appereance of a graphics card does actually matter to me. That is all personal preference though and highly individual.

Why is that? You've got nothing to prove it does nor that it does not. The reason the no OC'ing thing has arose is because the person who actually is responsible for the backbone of nearly every 3rd party OC'ing software, Alexey Nicolaychuk(known as Unwinder) didn't receive a sample at launch and he stated for AMD you need the hardware to be able to unlock everything. You don't with Nvidia, which is why they get it off the bat at launch. He said it's not a strange thing for AMD to not support it out the box, it's just the hardware is required by them to access and support then implement into the software to take control over it and push it further. I believe MSI's AB will be the first to support it with an update soon. I've seen people so far with few bios changes OC the HBM by 100mhz and get the core to about 1150. I'm excited for what they can get out of it.. just hopefully they get the software out asap.

As for the 980ti vs Fury X.. I would instantly buy a Fury X over a 980ti. That's just me though. People need to realize it's only about 5% slower yet in some games will surpass it. At 4k it's a really close call. People are just finding excuses now a days to go green team. Most of who actually want AMD to stay afloat yet every single person goes and buys Nvidia anyway. Double Standards these days.. I see it everywhere tbh.

Do not agree tbh. The card in itself is nothing to be sniffed at - it is a good card, let that be clear.

But the 980 Ti is still faster in most scenarios and now costs around the same prize in most shops. Personally, I'd go 980 Ti as well. Not cause I'm looking for excuses, if I wanted to coolest running card a reference Fury X will definitely be a good choice, but I'm an aesthetic guy and I don't want a thick 120mm rad looking completely out of place somewhere in my case, with a tonne of hoses in between when I tried so hard hiding everything.

Let's just say different people want different things from a video card. You want FreeSync, extremely good temperatures while the heat doesn't get dissipated into the case and HBM for 4k gaming? Pick up a Fury X. You want G-Sync, a fancy looking cooler that works well, out-of-the-box OS X compatibility and Shadowplay? Get a 980 Ti.

It really is that simple ;)

Anyway, just wanted to clear that up. This thread is about the regular Fury (non X) so yeah, let's continue on that topic.

You said you didn't see the point in this card.

I do.

Then your last line is about how well you seem to think Nvidia are doing. Just because they are sold out means nothing, they may be having stock issues (the same as AMD).

Remember, all that glistens...

But yes, so far your posts in this thread have been cynical and pro Nvidia.

Dont people get tireed of this endless back and forth debate? This gen of cards werent very interesting in the first place, to me anyways. Only the Fury X piqued my interest due to its usage of HBM. taking forever for the <28nm cards..

Ok for 1 you are being argumentative, Yet again, Calm it down.

I'm going off of stats, The Fury X which I still intend to buy and play around with was lackluster in all the reviews hence why so many went out and bought 980 Ti's.

And I'm not being cynical I'm looking at it from a neutral point of view i.e sales and stats.

As I said calm it down you've become known as someone who absolutely loves to argue on these forums.
